FrendL, Very Young... On a winter hike in the Sandia foothills of New Mexico, two weeks after we found each other on Christmas Eve 1999. (Age 3 months / January 2000)

FrendL sporting her 'Michelin Dog' look, 5 days after lengthy extensive surgery for several small (cancerous) mammary tumors & one large (non-cancerous) colon tumor. She recovered fully and beautifully, and lived 8.5 more years with no tumors recurring. FrendL's long body required a deep 'Elizabethan collar' but her short legs made it nearly impossible for her to walk while wearing it. Thus the solution of 2 inflatable collars! Which doubled as a great Hallowe’en costume. (Age 10 / Oct 2009)
