When Clyde first came to us, he was very scared. He had terrible separation anxiety. I had to change around my living room because he would climb the furniture and I was worried he would fall down the stairs.
Every time I left the house, Clyde would cry the whole time I was gone. He would literally wail and howl. In the first few months, I couldn’t stay out of the house long.
This was our first outing together. I took Clyde to Starbucks. He loved it. —Interesting note: I was told that Clyde was eleven-years old. At my request, a vet would later re-age him. The vet said Clyde was between 5 and 7 years old. The vet explained that in cases of severe neglect and abuse, it is harder to age a dog on sight. So in this video, I call him old man, because I thought he was a senior.
Clyde loves food— but not vegetables. He is a meat and dairy kind of dog. He turns his nose up at fruit and vegetables. 😂
A couple months into my foster time, I noticed that this lump here kept getting larger. It was different from the other bumps and lumps on Clyde’s body. The vet removed the growth, which was a good thing because it turned out to be cancer.
Clyde loves the snow. ❄️
Clyde loves to be outside. He loves playing with toys. He loves things he can chew.
It wasn’t until I actually watched the video that I found the ice cream cup. As I was filming, I didn’t notice it on his foot.
Clyde steals blankets. I now keep five blankets on the bed. If I’m lucky, I will have one left come morning. (lol) 😂 Clyde loves to “nest” in a pile of blankets.
Clyde is super spoiled. He deserves whatever makes him happy, I think.
Clyde loves being under the covers. And he hates having his sleep disturbed.
I find that Clyde is often touching me. It eases his anxiety, I think.
Clyde loves to be silly and play and have you rub his tummy while he wriggles and scratches his back on whatever he might be lying on at that moment.
Clyde is very handsome, scars and all.
Clyde LOVES sticks. They are his favorite. He likes to be outside.
Clyde spends a lot of time sleeping. He loves to be warm and nap. He hates having his sleep disturbed.
Sticks are his favorite! 😊
Clyde often sleeps with his tongue out. It’s so adorable.
Clyde is spoiled and gets to sleep in the bed with me. He is a blanket hog. (lol)
Despite his painful past, Clyde seems hopeful still. He loves to play. He doesn’t mind the cold either.
