Charybdis was called, Pepper at the shelter but my older kids thought it was funny to keep calling her Charybdis (the toothy sea monster from the Odyssey) because she always smiles. The name stuck when they had a name tag made and I finally relented. I call her, Cribby for short. And she may have been a "street dog" but she definitely isn't anymore and she most definitely has a heart of gold.
Charybdis loves kids and babies and has the patience of a saint.
Charybdis especially loves walks on windy days.
Charybdis always greets my grandchildren.
Here’s Charybdis with our youngest daughter. My husband was working in Doha in 2015 and we had our youngest daughter there with us for the summer. One day, at the urging of a friend, we decided to visit the shelter to help walk dogs. There we so many dogs at the shelter and all of the dogs were anxious to get a walk. Charybdis was leashed and handed to my daughter but instead of pulling ahead to walk with the others, Charybdis laid on her back. And so the story of bringing home our dog began!❤️
Charybdis was never taught how to play fetch before we got her. My grandson got her to play fetch! Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks?
